Samsung’s next Galaxy Fold could have a clamshell design

We have seen smartphone design change in the last few years because of the fact that the smartphone market was stagnating. Most of the famous smartphone manufacturers wanted to create designs that would make people buy them. For this reason, we have the latest innovation in the smartphone industry which is the advent of foldable phones. Right now, only companies such as Samsung, Huawei and Motorola have revealed their foldable smartphone design while makers such as Oppo and Xiaomi have also announced their plans. Now, we believe that in the next few years, we will see the foldable smartphones going mainstream.

Therefore, we should also have patience in the foldable smartphones right now as they are stepping stones for what is to come in future. Talking about foldable smartphones, the first one that we can really buy right now is the Galaxy Fold from Samsung. And it remains to be the only one ready for purchase in the market as well. Huawei has released its Mate X foldable phone but only in China due to the US-China trade war and other factors. Motorola did reveal its foldable phone with a clamshell design which is the Moto Razr but it is also coming out in January next year.

So we now have a new leak thanks to Weibo of a foldable smartphone with a clamshell design and it is from Samsung. This shows that Samsung is also working on a new design for its foldable smartphone rather than sticking to the Galaxy Fold’s design. It is time for experimentation in the industry and Samsung is leading the way. More interestingly, Samsung’s clamshell design foldable phone looks more modern as it has narrow bezels and also comes with a hole-punch camera on the front. There is a dual camera on the front which will act as a primary camera for the smartphone too.
